Glazer’s Tempted by “Clean Break”

The Glazer’s are apparently “tempted by a clean break” with regards to the current offers on the table for Manchester United Football Club according to a source close to SOS in Florida.

A clean break for the Glazer’s would mean a full sale to Sheikh Jassim of Qatar rather than accepting the rumoured favoured bid by Sir Jim Radcliffe’s INEOS Group, unless the latter makes an improved bid that includes 100% of the football club, rather than the proposed 50%+ leaving the Glazer’s with a reported 20% stake.

The source does however suggest that the family do consider the INEOS bid very interesting as it would mean a “hands-off” approach which they believe would lead to less scrutiny by the media and global fanbase.

There are also positives for the Glazer’s where a remaining 20% stake, and a potential revisit of the European Super League could see them take a back seat yet still be in a prime position to vote in its favour.

“The end game is either a clean break, which is tempting for the family, and focus on their other businesses such as the First Allied Corporation, or remain in the background with around 20% of Manchester United, knowing that that percentage will be worth billions more in the next one or two decades when a new sale could be considered”.

“There is indecision which has caused frustration amongst the bidders, and of course, most importantly, the fans”.
