Liverpool join race with Manchester United & Chelsea for Bundesliga Target

Kone

According to the popular German magazine SPORT BILD, Liverpool are now in the running to sign Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Kouadio Manu Kone. Other clubs interested in the player include Chelsea, PSG, and Manchester United. Liverpool, who had a disappointing season without qualifying for the UEFA Champions League or winning any trophies, is looking to bolster their midfield during the upcoming summer transfer window. Reports suggest that they may make up to three signings in that position.

Liverpool has reportedly made significant progress in their pursuit of Brighton & Hove Albion’s Alexis Mac Allister. Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has stated that Liverpool could secure a deal for the Argentinian midfielder for less than €70 million.

On May 30, it was revealed that Liverpool has initiated talks regarding a potential deal for OGC Nice’s Khephren Thuram. While the Ligue 1 club is reluctant to sell the midfielder, valuing him at €60 million according to French daily L’Equipe, Thuram is open to the prospect of playing under Jurgen Klopp.

Kone, a 22-year-old French compatriot of Thuram, has also piqued Liverpool’s “genuine” and “significant” interest, as reported by SPORT BILD. Liverpool has reached out to the entourage of the Borussia Monchengladbach star to express their desire to acquire him.

Monchengladbach is under no obligation to sell Kone, as he is contracted with them until 2025. However, they may consider selling him if they receive an offer in the range of €40-45 million, as stated in the report.

Nevertheless, Liverpool is not the only club interested in securing the services of the Frenchman. Chelsea, PSG, and Manchester United have also been linked with a potential move for him in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Kone has been a key player for Monchengladbach since his €9 million transfer from Toulouse in 2021. With 60 appearances across various competitions for the German club, he has scored four goals and provided two assists.
